Case Studies for Equine Therapists in January

Every therapist knows this situation: There are always cases that push you to your own limits. Whether it’s symptoms you’ve never seen before and for which even textbooks don’t provide a truly conclusive explanation, whether it’s horses that don’t respond to otherwise successful therapeutic measures, or perhaps a case that seems to get worse rather than better with therapy.
In these situations, you sometimes lack someone to discuss such a difficult patient with in order to get that breakthrough idea.

The case study sessions are all about exactly that: Cases from your practice that you find particularly interesting or complicated, or where you’re not quite sure how to proceed, are analyzed here under professional guidance, causes are distinguished from triggers, and therapy suggestions are developed.

In addition to medical and scientific foundations, it’s also about exchanging experiences—after all, you don’t always have to reinvent the wheel. You can learn from other therapists’ cases here, so you’re prepared when you encounter such a horse in your own practice. And you’ll receive tips for therapeutic measures or ideas for further diagnostics to narrow down the cause of the problem, which can concretely help your patients.

Prerequisites: You can only participate in these sessions if you are an equine therapist yourself or are currently in relevant training. After registration, please send us proof via email to therapeuten@sanoanimal.de.

Technical Requirements:
We use the Zoom platform, which you can easily access via browser, tablet, or smartphone. If you wish, you can register anonymously and keep your camera off during the session.

Process:

  • Registration: After your binding registration, you’ll receive a booking confirmation. You’ll receive the access data to our virtual meeting room a few days before the session.
  • Case Submission: Would you like to present a case? Submit it no later than 48 hours before the session via our Patienteakte by email.
Cases submitted later will not be considered.
Is this your first time and would you like to present a case? Please send us an email to therapeuten@sanoanimal.de and we’ll send you an overview of the required documents and instructions for using the Patienteakte.
  • Note: A maximum of 6 cases will be discussed per session. Slots are allocated in the order in which cases are submitted (completely!).

Schedule: Once a month, for approximately 2 hours. You can find all planned dates in the overview.

Live or Recording: The live session takes place once a month for approximately 2 hours. You can participate live or watch the recordings of the sessions, which will be available to you for 10 days afterwards.

Important:

By booking the online case study sessions, you confirm that in addition to the Terms and Conditions, you have also given consent to the recording of the case discussions and agree that recordings in which you participated may be presented in our therapist area. If you have questions, we’re happy to help at therapeuten@sanoanimal.de.

Event FAQs
What are the requirements for participation?

You can only participate in these sessions if you are a qualified equine therapist or currently undergoing relevant training. To confirm this, please email us proof of your qualifications/enrolment to therapeuten@sanoanimal.de after registering.

Which records for the horse should I provide if I'm presenting a 'case'?

If this is your first time joining our case discussions and you have a case you would like to discuss, please send a brief email in advance to therapeuten@sanoanimal.de. We can then send you our questionnaire and let you know what information and any diagnostic documents are necessary for us to thoroughly analyse your case during the discussion.

Can I still attend the case discussions if I don't want to present my own case?

Yes, absolutely! If you are an equine therapist or currently undergoing relevant training, you are welcome to participate even without bringing your own case, and learn from the cases presented by other therapists.

When and how will my access credentials be provided?

You will receive your login details for the presentation and our live Zoom meeting by email a few days before the event starts.

Where's the event taking place?

The event is taking place online, so you can easily participate from home.

What technical setup do I need to join?

To participate in the online event, all you need is an internet-enabled device. You can join using your mobile, tablet, or computer by logging into Zoom with the access link we will send you.

I don't have time that evening, but I would still really like to watch the case discussions. Is that possible?

It's no problem if you're unavailable that evening and can't attend live. The meeting will be recorded, and the recording will be made available to participants for 10 days afterwards. This way, you can review everything at your leisure.

When will the event recording be available?

All participants will automatically receive the recording after the live meeting. However, this may take 2-3 days as we need to process the recording first. The recording will then be available to you for 10 days.

What's the deadline for submitting my case?

As we will be sharing the documentation with other participating therapists during the meeting (everyone needs to understand the case, after all), we will prepare the materials so that no personal data is visible. Since we need to prepare the cases accordingly, please note that they must be submitted at least 48 hours before the session.

Can I submit multiple cases for one session?

You are welcome to submit multiple cases per participant for each session. However, if a large number of cases are submitted for a particular session, we reserve the right to limit the presentation and discussion to one case per participant.
