Case Studies for Equine Therapists in January

You can only participate in these sessions if you are a qualified equine therapist or currently undergoing relevant training. To confirm this, please email us proof of your qualifications/enrolment to office@sanoanimal.com after registering.

Cases are submitted via the practitioner software. If you have a case, please submit it early, as we allocate the 6 active slots based on the order of receipt of complete documentation. If you don't have access yet, you can create one for free. You can set up your account using this link: https://sanoanimal.com/practitioner-software. After logging in, you can create a practice.

The following documents are required for each horse:

• completed questionnaire
• photos of the horse from all sides: These should be meaningful and not just a "snapshot". Ideally, the horse should stand on level, firm ground with its head in a normal position (i.e., not with its head lowered to the ground because its nose is in a feed bucket, etc.). When photographing, make sure you don't shoot from an angled perspective, but hold the camera or phone straight and parallel to the horse. If you photograph from above at an angle, for example, or the horse is standing awkwardly at that moment, this can completely distort the entire impression. If the horse has any other abnormalities, such as rubbed areas, blemish hairs, or anything else, please also photograph and send them along.
• a comprehensive and current blood panel including zinc and selenium, glucose from NaF blood, and insulin (blood values are always a snapshot, so it's important that the values are current). Additionally, older results can also be submitted. These can then be compared with the current blood panel, and certain trends can often be identified. However, please limit this to the results that are actually relevant to the case. It's not helpful if we end up with 15 blood panels collected over the years for one horse and then no one can make sense of them anymore. If you want to submit more than 4 blood panels for a case because you believe they are important for the case, please summarize them clearly in a document in a table format.
• KPU test result if available
• if available, other findings (for example, X-rays, etc.)

The more detailed the compilation, the better an anamnesis and the resulting recommendations can be derived. It would also be important to know what therapy has been used so far. In urgent cases, a case can also be submitted without a blood panel or KPU test, but in such cases, only initial measures may be discussed, as a complete therapy cannot be established without proper diagnostics or anamnesis. You must therefore be aware that you should then present the case again in a later case discussion with the complete documentation. If important documents are missing and many cases have been submitted for the appointment, incomplete cases may not be discussed.

Once you have collected all documents in the patient record, you can share the patient record and send us the link to office@sanoanimal.com. Important: Please send us your case in time, at least 48 hours before the appointment. A maximum of 6 cases can be discussed per appointment; we consider the order of receipt of the cases.

Yes, absolutely! If you are an equine therapist or currently undergoing relevant training, you are welcome to participate even without bringing your own case, and learn from the cases presented by other therapists.

You will receive your login details for the presentation and our live Zoom meeting by email a few days before the event starts.

The event is taking place online, so you can easily participate from home.

To participate in the online event, all you need is an internet-enabled device. You can join using your mobile, tablet, or computer by logging into Zoom with the access link we will send you.

It's no problem if you're unavailable that evening and can't attend live. The meeting will be recorded, and the recording will be made available to participants for 10 days afterwards. This way, you can review everything at your leisure.

All participants will automatically receive the recording after the live meeting. However, this may take 2-3 days as we need to process the recording first. The recording will then be available to you for 10 days.

As we will be sharing the documentation with other participating therapists during the meeting (everyone needs to understand the case, after all), we will prepare the materials so that no personal data is visible. Since we need to prepare the cases accordingly, please note that they must be submitted at least 48 hours before the session.

You are welcome to submit multiple cases per participant for each session. However, if a large number of cases are submitted for a particular session, we reserve the right to limit the presentation and discussion to one case per participant.
