Use these blocks on any product page that offers a subscription option. These are designed to meet California (ARL), UK (DMCC), and EU standards.

1. The “Key Terms” Box (Display above the fold/near Price)

Subscription Summary

  • Automatic Renewal: This is a subscription that renews automatically until cancelled.
  • Price: [€] per [month/year]. Price includes applicable taxes based on your provided billing location.
  • Billing Cycle: Your first payment is taken [today / after trial period], then every [month/year] on the same date.
  • Minimum Term / Amount: [e.g., “No minimum term” OR “Minimum 12-month commitment; total minimum payable: €X”].
  • Trial/Introductory Offer: [If applicable: “Your trial lasts X days. After the trial, you will automatically be charged the standard rate of €X per period unless you cancel before the trial ends.”]
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime online via your account (Account → Subscriptions → Cancel). Access continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
  • Consumer Rights: By requesting immediate access, you acknowledge the 14-day cancellation right ends once supply begins (access enabled/link sent).

2. Delivery & Technical Availability (Product Page Body)

Access & Delivery Every purchase creates or updates a customer account using the email address provided at checkout. Supply begins—and the digital content is deemed delivered—as soon as we email your access link or unlock the content in your account. Please ensure your email address is accurate and accessible.

Technical Availability & Outages We strive for constant access; however, temporary technical outages or maintenance may occasionally delay account access or email delivery. We will restore access within a reasonable timeframe. Refunds are only applicable if technical delivery becomes permanently impossible (see Terms for details).

3. Price Transparency (Product Page Body)

Future Price Changes We reserve the right to change subscription prices for future billing periods. We will notify you via email at least 30 days before any price change takes effect. You may cancel your subscription at any time before the new price is charged.

4. Mandatory Checkout Checkboxes (Affirmative Consent)

These must be two separate, unticked checkboxes near the “Buy/Subscribe” button.

Checkbox A: Subscription Consent [ ] “I understand this is a subscription that renews automatically at [Price] per [Period] until I cancel. I authorize Sanoanimal to charge my payment method automatically at these intervals. I can cancel online in my account at any time.”

Checkbox B: Digital Content Waiver [ ] “I expressly request immediate access to the digital products/services before the end of the 14-day cancellation period. I acknowledge that I will lose my right to cancel once supply begins (e.g., when access is enabled in my account or an access link is emailed).”

5. Footer & CTA Legal Text

“By subscribing, you agree to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Detailed rules regarding subscription billing, cancellation, technical outages, and consumer rights are set out in our Terms & Conditions.”

6. Operational Checklist (Internal Use Only)

  • Proof of Consent: Ensure your system logs the timestamp, IP address, and the exact text of the checkboxes accepted by the user.
  • Renewal Reminders: For annual subscriptions, send a reminder email 7–14 days before the renewal charge.
  • Order Confirmation: Ensure the confirmation email (Durable Medium) includes:
    1. A link to the GTC.
    2. Confirmation of the “Immediate Access” request and the “Waiver of Cancellation Right.”
    3. Clear instructions on how to cancel (The “Cancel Button” logic).
  • Marketing: Do not bundle marketing opt-ins into the subscription checkboxes.
